Bizen Ware Traditional Industrial Hall
Bizen Ware is one of Japan’s most famous styles of pottery, which was developed in Bizen (modern-day Okayama Prefecture). Learn about the pottery at Bizen Ware Traditional Industrial Hall in the city of Bizen, Okayama. The hall has a tourist information center, a gallery, and a sales area where visitors can buy works by accredited Bizen potters. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, visitors can take pottery classes under the guidance of a Bizen Pottery artist (reservations required). The hall is shaped to resemble a traditional climbing kiln.
