Dual Mode Vehicles in Tokushima

Dual Mode Vehicles (DMV) are modified microbuses with steel wheels that enable them to operate on both railroad tracks and regular roads. The Asa Coast Railway Company’s DMVs have been in service since December 2021 and are the first of their kind in full-scale commercial operation. It takes just 15 seconds for the vehicles to switch between running on rails and roads.
