Hyogo Meriken Park
This park represents Kobe's port area, and is well known as a memorial park to preserve the Meriken Wharf, which collapsed in 1995 in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Meriken Park is home to the Kobe Maritime Museum, Hotel Okura, and many art sculptures created by domestic and foreign artists. Several cruise ships depart from nearby terminals. Harborland is within walking distance as well and offers nearby shopping opportunities.
