This lush urban park was opened in honor of the atomic bomb victims. It remains a highly visited location, as well as a spot for visitors to pray for world peace. Here, in the center of downtown Hiroshima City, the atomic bomb was dropped on August 6th, 1945. Inside the park visitors can see the A-Bomb Dome, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, as well as 35 memorial monuments adorned with wishes for peace, including the Memorial Cenotaph for A-Bomb victims, and the Children's Peace Monument. A Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony is held on August 6th every year.
