Jodo-ji Temple Okunoin - Jodo-ji Observatory

Jodo-ji Temple is believed to have been built by Prince Shotoku. Behind Jodo-ji Temple there is an "Okunoin" or inner sanctuary at the summit of Mt. Jodo-ji, where images of gods or Buddhas are enshrined. From the Okunoin, guests can visit the observatory to enjoy the view of Onomichi City, Onomichi Suido and the Setouchi Archipelago. Nearby, visitors can check out the megaliths and the immovable rock which was engraved by the Acalathe God of Fire.
