Townscape of Mitarai

This port town flourished with maritime traffic during the Edo Period, and today visitors can still see the historic buildings that were essential facilities during the time. Shipyards, stone bridges, and high lanterns make this location an interesting sightseeing spot for tourists. At the "Shio Machi Kan," the local tourist base, visitors can ask for sightseeing guides (for a small fee) as well as visit the souvenir shop and the cafe.
