This Kabuki Theater was established in 1916. At the time of establishment the beautiful, multi-story wooden building held a revolving stage, a "hanamichi" or runway, and "masu-seki" which are wooden box seats. After the war, the building was renovated into a movie theater, and there was talk of tearing down the building alltogether because of deterioration, but it was refurbished in 1985. Because of this, it is recognized for it's traditional and well preserved architecture, and has a high reputation even today.
